OUR STORY
Our boutique holiday home on Galu Beach, designed by Shiro, is a true escape that embodies a love for design, culture, and sustainability. Shiro, an interior architect, created a retreat that blends modern luxury with the natural beauty of the coast. The exterior, with its soft, neutral tones, harmonizes with the landscape, while large, open spaces welcome natural light and ocean breezes.
Inside, the design is a global fusion, featuring Moroccan rugs, Japanese furniture, and Kenyan art, complemented by local craftsmanship. Sustainability is central, with solar energy powering the home and a sophisticated natural ventilation system ensuring comfort.
Thoughtful amenities enhance the guest experience, balancing relaxation and activity. From cozy lounge areas to outdoor spaces for fun and exploration, every detail is designed for both rest and adventure. The expansive terrace opens onto the beach, seamlessly blending indoor and outdoor living, offering guests a serene, eco-conscious retreat and a true escape from everyday life.
OUR HOUSE
OVERVIEW
Cocokinondo accommodates up to 14 guests in ultra-luxurious, spacious accommodations, featuring 6 air-conditioned double/twin en-suite bedrooms in both the main house and guest house, as well as a lavish presidential suite.
Situated on a private two-acre plot with 30 metres of sea frontage, the property features a natural forested entrance and a private beach.
The residence boasts a 200 sq. metre swimming pool (20m x 10m) at the beach-front, alongside an all-weather, floodlit tennis court complete with a cloakroom and a covered viewing area with seating and a space for serving snacks.
The beach-front includes a swimming pool with a jacuzzi, outdoor showers, and a beachfront gazebo (paillote) ideal for evening cocktails, along with poolside sun loungers for relaxation.
UPPER GROUND FLOOR
The upper ground floor features a grand double-height entrance hall that opens into a lofty central atrium. An air-conditioned home cinema is equipped with a projector, screen, and sound system for an immersive entertainment experience. The wrap-around sea-view veranda, which is partially open and partially covered, offers both lounging and dining areas with stunning views.
LOWER GROUND FLOOR
The lower ground floor features a vast open-plan area designed for living, dining, entertaining, and a bar, seamlessly extending to an expansive covered veranda with additional dining and lounging spaces. The air-conditioned gym is fully equipped with a running machine, static bicycles, an elliptical machine, and both free and tethered weights as, a fully kitted games room as well as a grand piano for those musically inclined.
For entertainment, the air-conditioned games room offers a range of activities, including a snooker table, table football, table tennis, a card table with various board games, and a television for gaming. Culinary needs are met with an air-conditioned eat-in guest kitchen and a professionally equipped chef’s kitchen, complemented by extensive food and wine storage. This floor also includes a dhobi and storage rooms.
FIRST FLOOR
The entire first floor is devoted to a spectacular presidential suite, thoughtfully designed for maximum comfort with full air conditioning. The spacious 130-square-metre bedroom is elegantly furnished with sofas and armchairs, creating a cosy and inviting atmosphere. The suite also features two luxurious 50-square-metre bathrooms, each equipped with dressing areas, bathtubs, and a massage table, providing an unparalleled experience of relaxation and indulgence.
GUEST HOUSE
The guest house provides a comfortable and tastefully designed living space, featuring an open-plan living and dining room, a well-equipped kitchen, and a private office. It includes two double en-suite bedrooms, with the master bathroom offering a luxurious bathtub. The entire guest house is fully air-conditioned for your comfort. Outside, a covered veranda enhances the space with additional dining and seating areas, perfect for relaxation or entertaining.
